Partnerships that Matter: Finding Top Talent
Fuqua School of Business alumna returns to recruit top talent for Kraft Foods, Inc.
Fran Hinckley, Daytime '99, has come full circle since landing a position with Kraft. She was recruited as a first-year MBA student and has been with the company since graduation. Now, she returns to Fuqua to recruit fresh faces.
"I have consistently returned to Fuqua to recruit every year since graduating," Hinckley said. "We have successfully grown our Fuqua base at Kraft from three alumni to over two dozen in the past decade."
Hinckley was most recently on campus in December 2008, for a USA Today CEO Forum, hosted by Duke and held at Fuqua. The guest speaker was Irene Rosenfeld, Kraft Chairman and CEO. Hinckley took the opportunity to visit Fuqua to not only support her company, but to also meet students.
Hinckley leads the marketing and management of a $650 million portfolio of Kraft brands including Chips Ahoy! and Nutter Butter. She has experience working with global markets, creating new brands, and driving business growth. Hinckley's professional accomplishments make her a valuable source of information for students, and simultaneously, she recruits top talent.
"I am especially impressed by how dedicated the students are to helping each other succeed. It's this collaborative spirit that keeps me returning to campus looking for top talent for Kraft," Hinckley said. "Fuqua and Kraft's cultures align very well."
She added that she values the Fuqua education because she knows first-hand the caliber of leader that the school produces.
"The strong team collaboration that is instilled at Fuqua prepares students to be business leaders of the future," Hinckley said. "In addition, students benefit from exposure to the diverse culture and work experiences in the student body. The ability to build upon individual strengths through teamwork is a key success factor in a global consumer products company such as Kraft."
